Ghost Grammar

Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 7/18/25 | Last Updated: 7/18/25

Welcome to GhostGrammar.app (“Ghost Grammar”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). We respect your privacy, we don't monetize your content, and we’re committed to protecting the small amount of data we do collect. This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, how it’s protected, and your rights.

By using GhostGrammar.app, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. What We Collect

We collect only what’s necessary to operate and improve our service:

  • Email Address – required for account registration, authentication, and essential communication.
  • Hashed Password – used for login. Stored securely using industry-standard hashing algorithms.
  • Analytics Data – includes non-personally identifiable data such as browser type, time on site, referral source, and general location (e.g. country).
  • Billing Information – managed through Stripe. We have access to billing metadata (e.g. subscription status), but never your full payment details.

2. What We Don’t Collect

We deliberately do not collect or store:

  • Any text or content submitted by users for grammar enhancement
  • Any outputs generated by our AI systems
  • Any history of usage tied to your content or writing

All text input is processed transiently. We don’t store it, log it, analyze it, or sell it. You won’t even find it in your account history—because we never save it in the first place.

3. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used strictly for:

  • Authentication and account access
  • Billing and subscription management
  • Communicating essential updates
  • Anonymous traffic analysis for site performance and product decisions

We do not use your data to train AI models, sell advertising, or profile you in any way.

4. Third-Party Services

To deliver Ghost Grammar securely and reliably, we integrate the following trusted services:

  • Gemini – AI-powered text processing (real-time only; no data retention on our end)
  • Stripe – secure payment and billing system
  • Web Hosting Provider – manages our servers and infrastructure
  • Analytics Provider (e.g. Plausible or Google Analytics) – anonymized site metrics

These services may collect limited data as necessary to perform their functions, governed by their own privacy policies.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

We store only your account credentials (email + hashed password) and payment metadata (via Stripe). We do not store:

  • User-submitted text
  • AI-generated output
  • Any content-based history

Because we store so little, there is nothing to export or delete beyond your login credentials and subscription metadata. To delete your account, simply contact us.

6. Security Measures

We take your data security seriously:

  • HTTPS encryption protects data in transit
  • Passwords are stored using modern hashing algorithms
  • Access to user data is strictly limited to operational staff

However, no internet-based service can be 100% secure. By using Ghost Grammar, you acknowledge and accept this risk.

7. International Data Transfers

If you are located outside of the United States, please note that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the U.S. By using our services, you consent to this transfer in accordance with applicable law.

8. Legal Basis for Processing (EU Users)

If you are a user in the European Union or United Kingdom, our legal basis for collecting and using your personal data is:

  • Performance of a contract (to provide you with the service)
  • Compliance with legal obligations
  • Legitimate interests, such as improving the service and ensuring account security

9. Children’s Privacy

Ghost Grammar is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect or store data from anyone under 13. If you believe we’ve inadvertently collected such data, please contact us for immediate deletion.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may occasionally update this Privacy Policy. If changes are significant, we will notify users via email or on-site notification. Continued use of Ghost Grammar after a revision means you accept the updated terms.
